Getting married to a United States citizen is the fastest and easiest way for somebody to get a green card. If you are in the U.S. on an H-1B visa or an O-1A visa, and you’re thinking of getting a green card based on your work accomplishments or patents, you can definitely do that. But getting a marriage-based green card if you’re in a relationship with a U.S. citizen will be so much less work for you – that’s if you don’t have that fear of putting additional pressure on your relationship.
